2019-20 AMH/Anchorage Cup / HS Region IV

So proud of our AWS skiers at Region IV Championships and the AMH Cup races this weekend! Friday was the Regions 10k (boys) and 7.5k (girls) freestyle race on a hilly and challenging course. Zander Maurer won the boys’ race, and four more Winter Stars boys made the top 10: Joel Power, Aaron Power, Hayden Ulbrich, and Aaron Maves. Zander Mauer also won the Skimeister overall award!

For the girls’ race, freshman Meredith Schwartz won the race, and Tatum Witter, Quincy Donley and Neena Brubaker made the top 9!

At the AMH Cup freestyle race at Kincaid on Sunday, congratulations to our older and younger skiers! Gus Schumacher won the men’s 10k race and Alison Arians won the women’s 10k. For the women's 5k, Maddy Reckmeyer was 2nd, Maire Hartman was 3rd, Heidi Schumacher was 4th and the 5km men won Ryan Maves.

Brynn Rathert won the 3k girls race, and Brianna Gill Anderson was 2nd. Lars Robinson finished 2nd for the boys 3k race. Both 3k races included ski-cross features, including lots of fun downhill turns and even a ski jump!!
